Entain Appoints Amanda Brown as New HR Director

Amanda Brown, the former Chief Human Resources Officer at Hiscox, has taken on the position of HR Director at Entain. Brown's career includes her role as Human Resources Director for Marriott Hotels at Whitbread, Compensation and Benefits Director for Europe and Africa, and Human Resources Director for Walkers at PepsiCo. She also served as a Human Resources Manager at Mars Confectionery. In addition to her role at Entain, Brown is a non-executive director at Mitchells & Butlers and Manchester Airport Group, and she will become a member of the Remuneration Committee.

Entain's Chairman, Barry Gibson, expressed his delight at Amanda's appointment, highlighting her international business and board experience. He believes her skills and expertise will contribute significantly to the board's ability to support and oversee the company's strategy.

In other news, Entain has announced a strategic decision to scale back its business-to-consumer (B2C) operations within its Unikrn esports betting arm. This move is part of a broader repositioning of the company's esports offerings. Entain acquired Unikrn in October 2021 to strengthen its presence in the esports sector. The brand was relaunched in December 2022 with plans to expand into more regulated markets worldwide. However, less than a year after the relaunch, Entain has decided to reduce its direct-to-consumer operations within Unikrn.

Unfortunately, Entain did not provide further details regarding the future of the Unikrn division. This announcement closely follows Entain's recent acquisition of Angstrom Sports, a sports modeling, forecasting, and analytics specialist, for a deal valued at up to £203.0 million.

Entain has been actively expanding its global presence with recent acquisitions, including SuperSport in Croatia at the end of 2022 and the acquisition of Polish sportsbook operator STS Holding.
