On Tuesday, April 30, the Nevada Gaming Control Board filed a complaint against former Resorts World Las Vegas President Scott Cibella on three misdemeanor charges related to alleged violations of rules and policies.

Knocked off the Pedestal

Sibella was fired as president of Resorts World Las Vegas in September for violating company policy. He was subsequently charged with allowing criminals to gamble at Resorts World Las Vegas with stolen and illicit funds.

Complaint about Violations

The Board's complaint includes three counts. First, Sibella is accused of failing to comply by failing to file a suspicious transaction report involving cash that Wayne Nix presented at MGM Grand Las Vegas.

Continuation of the Investigation

The complaints also include Sibella allowing Nix to gamble at the MGM Grand casino despite his involvement in an illegal bookmaking operation. He also allegedly received free benefits, including golf trips, to motivate him to play at the casino.

Serious consequences

The board is seeking fines for Sibella for each violation, ranging from $25,000 to $250,000 per incident. They also expect further action, including possible revocation of their license.

These charges represent serious consequences for Sibella and highlight the importance of compliance with rules and policies in the gambling industry. The decision in this case will have far-reaching consequences for all parties concerned.
