New steps in development
Macau's Grand Lisbon is scheduled to undergo extensive upgrades to all hotel rooms and restaurants next year, SJM Resorts managing director Daisy Ho said at an event for the international dragon boat race.
Updating hotel amenities
As part of the renovation, all 430 hotel rooms and suites will be updated to combine modern comfort with the building's rich history. In addition, new restaurants will be opened to cater to both locals and international visitors.
Strategy and prospects
These changes are aimed at strengthening Grand Lisboa's reputation as a key attraction in Macau's entertainment and gaming scene. The renovation is part of SJM's strategy to improve both the Grand Lisbon in central Macau and the Grand Lisbon Palace in Cotai.
Positive trends
News of the hotel's refurbishment comes in the context of SJM's positive first-quarter 2024 results, signaling recovery from the pandemic and showing potential for further growth.
Future plans
The company is also planning large-scale international events to promote its brand and create unique guest experiences. The renovation of Grand Lisboa, planned for next year, will help attract even more foreign visitors and events, in line with all of the above development plans and strategies.
