In April this year, Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) in Denmark decreased by 6.9% to DKK 595 million ($86.4 million) compared to the same period last year.

From Spillemyndigheden's recently released statistics, it was revealed that major segments such as betting, online casinos, slot machines and land-based casinos showed a decline compared to April 2023.
Trends by segment
- Betting: Gross betting revenue decreased by 20.9% to DKK 195 million. More than 63% of bets were made through mobile devices.
- Land-based casinos: There was a slight decrease of 1.6%, with average daily gross revenue of DKK 31 million.
- Slot machines: GGR decreased by 7.3%, reaching DKK 96 million.
- Online casino: There is a moderate growth of 6.04%, with gross revenue of DKK 273 million, making it the leader in terms of gross revenue.

Although the overall GGR has declined, the growth in online casinos shows a gradual adaptation to changing trends and player preferences in the face of increasing digitalization.
