Betfred, the leading bookmaker, has announced a landmark deal that will see it become the first sponsor of all five classic British horse races. Betfred will be the official sponsor of the Newmarket 2000 and 1000 Guineas from 2025, joining existing sponsorship relationships with the Derby, Oaks and Saint Leger.

Betfred's new deal not only covers Newmarket's 2000 and 1000 Guineas, but also brings significant financial incentives in the form of a £2 million ($2.53 million) bonus for achieving the Betfred Triple Crown. This ambitious feat included the horse winning the 2000 Guineas, Derby and St. Leger, something that had not happened since 1970.

Comments from Company Leaders

Fred Dawn, CEO of Betfred, shared his delight at the new sponsorship deal, saying it was an honor and a testament to his love of the sport to be the first sponsor of all five British Classics.

Earlier this year, Betfred extended its sponsorship of the Derby with a new three-year deal. Additionally, the bookmaker has partnered with Inspired Entertainment to launch Betfred Freespins across its retail operations.

Expectations from the Future

David Layden Dunbar, Group Director of Commercial Strategy at Arena Racing Company, said he is confident in Betfred's support for British racing and expects the Triple Crown bonus to be an important element of future events, including the Betfred St Leger Festival in Doncaster.

This partnership not only underscores Betfred's importance in the British sports industry, but also opens up new horizons for developing the popularity and prestige of classic racing on the international stage.
