BetMGM and Newcastle United have announced the extension of their partnership in what is seen as a strategic development for both parties. This collaboration aims to strengthen the BetMGM brand and increase football fan engagement.
Expansion of the Partnership
BetMGM UK, led by Chris Rock, recently launched its UK operations, with the sports betting brand becoming the official partner of Newcastle United for the 2023/24 season. Due to the successful first year of cooperation, the parties decided to extend the agreement.
During the first year of the partnership, BetMGM actively pursued advertising opportunities at St. James's Park, including LED signage, large screens and static advertising pads. The operator has also created exclusive content and engagement with Newcastle United first team players, with plans to introduce even more fan initiatives in the future.
Representatives' comments
Newcastle United Chief Commercial Officer Peter Silverstone said: “Newcastle United and BetMGM have had an exceptional first year together. We have helped BetMGM increase brand awareness and engagement in key markets, supporting their goal of creating the world's best iGaming experience. This new agreement is testament to how effective the club's support and reputation has been for BetMGM and we are delighted to strengthen our support for each other on the next stage of our exciting journeys.”
BetMGM UK director Sam Behar added: “Our partnership with Newcastle United has proven to be a success and we are delighted to continue this fruitful relationship. The club is incredibly ambitious and its aspirations align perfectly with our group's core values. I can't wait to get started this season and see Newcastle United continue on their journey."
Additional Partnerships and Agreements
BetMGM has also entered into a new partnership with fellow Premier League team Wolves. As part of this collaboration, the LeoVegas brand has become the club's official European betting partner for the next two seasons.
In addition, LeoVegas this week acquired Tipico, which will allow the operator to operate its own sportsbook in all territories not exclusively owned by LeoVegas' parent company, MGM Resorts International. This expansion of BetMGM and LeoVegas' capabilities will strengthen their position in the international betting market.
The extension of the partnership between BetMGM and Newcastle United demonstrates the success of the first year of cooperation and confirms the mutual commitment to achieving ambitious goals. The joint effort is aimed at increasing BetMGM's brand awareness and fan engagement, ultimately strengthening both companies' positions in the iGaming market.
