The World Snooker Tour (WST) is proud to announce Unibet as the new Leading Partner of the British Open. The marquee snooker event will take place from 23rd to 29th September at the Centaur Arena at Cheltenham Racecourse, offering spectators the opportunity to see some of the sport’s greatest talents perform.

Star-Studded Line-up

The British Open will feature a host of snooker legends, including the likes of Ronnie O’Sullivan, Judd Trump, Mark Allen, Kyren Wilson and current champion Mark Williams. These exceptional players will be showcasing their skills and battling it out for the prestigious title, making it an unforgettable event for snooker fans.

The tournament will retain the random draw format similar to the FA Cup for all rounds. This will create the conditions for potentially exciting, high-stakes matches from the start, ensuring unpredictability and tension throughout the event.

The 128-player qualifying stage will begin on 31 July in Leicester, with the winners qualifying for the final stage of the tournament in Cheltenham. This process ensures the tournament remains high quality and competitive, attracting spectators and fans.

Unibet Partnership Agreement

The partnership with Unibet marks a new milestone in the history of the British Open. Peter Wright, CCO of the WST, expressed his delight at the collaboration: “We are delighted to be working with Unibet for the first time, as we know they share our passion for sport. They are an innovative brand that is always looking to help fans enjoy sport in a safe and responsible way.”

Sam Mead, General Manager of Unibet, added: “We are proud to be the Premier Snooker Partner of the British Open and look forward to being part of this exciting event in Cheltenham. With its rich history and stellar line-up, this tournament is the perfect platform for us to demonstrate our commitment to the sport.”

Impact & Broadcast

The Unibet British Open will be broadcast on ITV and overseas, ensuring a wide audience and strong ratings. Live streaming will allow viewers around the world to follow the matches and enjoy the highest level of snooker.

In addition to its partnership with WST, Unibet also entered into an agreement with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) earlier this year. The agreement will see Unibet become the Official Bookmaker and Betting Partner of PFL Europe in the UK and France in 2024 and 2025, underlining the company’s commitment to strengthening its presence across a range of sporting disciplines.

The Unibet and British Open snooker partnership represents a new opportunity for both brands, combining innovation and sporting excellence. The tournament promises to be the highlight of the year, capturing the attention of millions of snooker fans around the world.
