During a broadcast on the Kick platform, well-known streamer xQc (Felix Lengel) got into a heated argument with his friend and fellow industry player, Twitch streamer JesseSMFI. During the conversation, which began on neutral topics, JesseSMFI brought up the topic of gambling and directly asked xQc if he considered himself addicted to it.

xQc's Harsh Response to an Unpleasant Question

"Do you consider yourself addicted to gambling?" asked JesseSMFI. However, xQc did not like the question and immediately expressed his displeasure, noting that the word "addiction" has become too loosely used and has acquired a negative connotation. He says he knows what a real addiction is, and hints at a personal experience that was far more destructive than his gambling addiction.

"I hate that word because of how often it's misused. I'm just as addicted to gambling as I am to so many other things. It's no different. People use that word as a catch-all. I have addictions that are far more damaging to me than this. Does that make sense?" xQc explained during the discussion.

JesseSMFI didn't stop there, and continued to grill xQc about his motivations for playing. He asked if xQc was "playing for fun" or trying to make back money he'd lost.

XQc took this as an inappropriate attempt to invade his privacy, and snapped back: "You're changing one part of the damn equation," he said, adding that JesseSMFI should "mind his own business" and followed it up with an offensive epithet.

Conflict and Aftermath

The conversation quickly fizzled out after this incident. In recent years, xQc has faced numerous questions about his gambling habits, which has left him increasingly frustrated.

It's worth noting that xQc moved to the Kick platform after Twitch banned certain unlicensed gambling operators from advertising in the North American market. The move has drawn criticism from those who believe the streamer is being paid to promote gambling, misleading his fans.

Some even claim that xQc doesn't spend his own money on games, but plays with credit provided by the casino to keep his audience interested. While these claims remain unproven, questions about his "addiction" continue to surface.
