International gaming company IGT has announced the signing of a new contract between its subsidiary IGT Global Solutions Corporation and Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa (SCML), the company’s long-standing partner.

IGT will provide the Portuguese lottery with cutting-edge products

According to an official statement from IGT, IGT Global Solutions Corporation has entered into a three-year agreement with the Portuguese National Lottery for the primary printing of instant lottery tickets and the provision of related services. The contract was won following a competitive selection process.

As part of this agreement, IGT will provide SCML with access to its instant ticket portfolio and innovative solutions. This will allow SCML to offer players in Portugal a variety of top-notch global games. In addition, SCML will benefit from IGT’s marketing services, game development and analytics.

This new agreement strengthens the existing relationship between IGT and SCML. Since 2000, IGT has served as the technology supplier to the Portuguese National Lottery, providing central retail system hardware, software, terminal maintenance and field services.

IGT is committed to continuing its partnership with SCML

IGT’s Chief Operating Officer for Global Lottery Operations, Jay Gendron, commented on the new agreement, noting the importance of continuing the partnership between the companies. He emphasized that his team’s long-standing experience with SCML and deep understanding of the Portuguese market will allow them to work closely with the lottery to create world-class instant tickets tailored to the needs of local players.

Gendron also expressed his commitment to continuing his partnership with SCML to deliver cutting-edge content for Portuguese lottery enthusiasts.

We are excited to bring our diverse and innovative gaming content to the region, supporting SCML’s continued growth.

IGT, one of the largest suppliers in the lottery industry, services 26 of the 46 lotteries in the United States. The company is also the primary technology provider for 8 of the world’s 10 largest lotteries.

IGT recently appointed Nick Heene as its new President of Global Gaming. In his new role, Heene will be responsible for leading IGT’s global gaming business unit.

IGT also released its second-quarter results a few weeks ago, showing strong numbers amid the upcoming sale of its gaming and digital businesses.
