Renowned poker commentator and stand-up comedian Joe Stapleton has launched a crowdfunding campaign on the Kickstarter platform for his new graphic novel "Trapped", dedicated to the world of poker. The project promises to be an explosive mix of the film "Rounders" and the character of the antihero Deadpool. The main character is a fictional version of Stapleton himself, and readers will be able to immerse themselves in the history of his internal and external conflicts.

The graphic part of the comic was created by Neil Gibson, a talented illustrator and founder of the Twisted Comics studio, which gives the project a special visual dynamics.

A story about returning to his calling

The story centers on Joe, a talented poker player with outstanding skills, but known for his short temper and tendency to make rash decisions. He is also a professional commentator whose life and career are tied to poker.

The story begins with Joe losing his job as a commentator. Tired of poker and frustrated by how the game is increasingly becoming a mathematical calculation, he begins to lose interest in what was once his passion. Despite his belief that poker has become "boring and difficult", fate unexpectedly brings him into contact with drug dealers, which forces Joe to sit down at the gaming table again.

The comic is based on Stapleton's personal experiences in the world of poker and tells the story of how a person can lose touch with what he loves and try to find it again. According to the author, this is a dynamic, exciting and at the same time profound story about finding yourself and returning to your true passion.

"Trapped" offers readers not only gambling moments of the game, but also elements of comedy, romance and even scenes with hints of action, making it interesting for a wide audience.

Support the project on Kickstarter

At the time of writing, the crowdfunding campaign "Trapped" has already raised $8,881, although it has not yet reached its goal of $13,177. There are 25 days left until the end of the campaign, so fans of poker and comics still have the opportunity to support the project.

The comic is already completely finished, so the risk for investors is minimal - the authors only have to send it to print. By backing the project for $10, participants will receive a digital version of the graphic novel, and for $20 - a printed version. Other levels of support are also available, including exclusive bonuses, tickets to a stand-up comedy show, a personal meeting with Stapleton, and the opportunity to play a game of poker with him.

Poker fans can also purchase a variety of merchandise, including branded T-shirts, playing cards, and stickers, adding an extra element of fun and involvement to the project.
