Cassandra Tovar, 31, was pulled over by Las Vegas police on Sept. 6. The officer intended to issue a citation for driving without a license plate, but the situation took an unexpected turn. When the officer pulled Tovar over, he noticed signs of intoxication. In Nevada, first-offense DUIs carry fines ranging from $400 to $1,000, and a possible two days in jail or 48 hours of community service.

However, upon investigation, Tovar had an outstanding warrant for her arrest on charges of stealing $200,000 worth of property. The crime took place last year at a luxury hotel on the Strip, where two men were reportedly poisoned by three women, including Tovar.

$1,000 for Sex, Rejected Offer

The incident occurred on April 23, when three women met two men at the hotel bar. They later went up to their room, where one of the women offered one of the men sexual services for $1,000 for each woman. The men refused the offer, but continued their conversation on the balcony of the room. During the conversation, one of the women offered one of the men an alcoholic drink, after which he passed out. The men did not remember what happened next.

Theft of Luxury Items

When the men woke up, they discovered that all three women had disappeared, taking with them expensive watches, designer clothes, and jewelry, including diamond bracelets. The hotel guests immediately contacted the police. Analysis showed that the drink contained illegal substances. The hotel's security cameras captured footage of a car that was later identified as belonging to one of the suspects. A search of her home turned up the stolen items.

Cassandra Tovar, one of the suspects, was only arrested after being pulled over for a traffic violation. Following her arrest, she was taken to the Clark County Jail on $20,000 bail.

Court proceedings

Following her arrest, Tovar appeared before Judge Daniel Westmeyer, who set a November arraignment. If convicted, she faces a lengthy prison sentence and significant fines.

The case is reminiscent of another recent incident in which a woman providing sex services was charged with stealing $40,000 from a client. Also in July, a Las Vegas court heard a case of theft of expensive watches and jewelry from a client at the Bellagio.
