The Jets picked up their first road win last weekend, beating the Tennessee Titans. They’ll play their first home game of the season at MetLife Stadium this Thursday, hosting the Patriots, who are coming off an overtime loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
Patriots Show Unexpected Progress
Even though the Patriots were expected to have a disappointing season, they’ve gotten off to a strong start, beating the Cincinnati Bengals 16-10 in new head coach Jerod Mayo’s debut. The Patriots defense did a great job, holding quarterback Joe Burrow to zero touchdowns.
The Patriots showed their best defense again in Week 2, holding off the Seahawks offense. However, their offense could have done better. Kicker Joey Slye missed a 48-yard field goal that would have won the game. As a result, the game went into overtime, where the Seahawks kicked another field goal to win the game.
New York Jets: New Stage with Rodgers
After a 32-19 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1, the Jets bounced back with a 24-17 win over the Tennessee Titans. Aaron Rodgers, who became the team's quarterback, had a great game, completing 18 of 30 passes for 176 yards and two touchdowns.
Both touchdowns were caught by running backs - Breece Hall and 20-year-old Braylon Allen, who, in addition to the touchdown on the reception, also made a mark on the run.
The Jets defense also showed itself to be decent, making one interception, but this is not enough for the next match against the Patriots. To win, the Jets will have to play even better.
Match Prediction
We believe that the New York Jets are at the start of a winning streak that will be difficult to interrupt. The team has a relatively easy schedule ahead, and they are trying to make the most of this chance. We expect them to approach each match seriously, starting with Thursday's game, and come out victorious, covering the proposed handicap.
