Twitch has added two more gambling sites to its list of banned sites - Blaze and Gamdom. This follows a policy change that was implemented last year.

The company is an interactive live streaming service for content such as games, entertainment, sports, music, and more.

The motive behind the ban on gaming sites is to "protect your community" (from gambling-related harm), "combat predatory behavior", and "make Twitch a safer place".

After the policy update - banning broadcasts of certain sites that include slot machines, roulette or craps - the number of views of gambling on Twitch fell by 75%; This means that his new policy is working.

Speaking of the policy update, which reduced player views by 75%, a Twitch spokesperson tweeted: “This meant the change had an immediate effect and that our community was better protected from cheating and related harm.

“Since then, we have noticed some new trends and are updating our list of banned sites to better protect our community. It is important that policies continue to purposefully prevent harm.”

Twitch has been reviewing its gambling policy since September 2022 and went into effect in October 2022.

However, despite the ban on exchanging links or referral codes to gaming sites, Twitch will still allow links dedicated to sports betting, fantasy sports, and poker.

A Twitch spokesperson posted their policy on Twitter stating, “Gambling on Twitch has been a big topic of discussion in the community and we have been actively reviewing it since our last policy update in this area.

“While we prohibit sharing links or referral codes to all sites that include slots, roulette or craps, we have seen some people circumvent these rules and expose our community to potential harm.”

“Therefore, on October 18, we will update our policy to prohibit the streaming of gaming sites that include slot machines, roulette, or craps that are not licensed in the United States or other jurisdictions that provide sufficient consumer protection.

“These sites will include Stake.com, Rollbit.com, Duelbits.com and Roobet.com. However, we can identify others as we move forward.”
