Elevators are an integral part of tall buildings, especially when it comes to hotels. During emergencies, such as fires or earthquakes, elevators can become unsafe, forcing people to use the stairs. However, few people are willing to climb dozens of floors on foot while on vacation. That is exactly the problem that guests at one Las Vegas hotel have encountered.

Elevator Complaints

Guests at the Oyo Hotel and Casino have begun filing complaints with various Clark County departments about elevator problems, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The complaints were reportedly filed in both July and September, but the elevator problem remains unresolved.

It is unclear at this time how many elevators were in operation at the time of the incidents and how many were out of service. The hotel and casino has not yet provided any official comment on the cause of the outages or possible solutions.

The Oyo Hotel and Casino is located on Tropicana Avenue in Las Vegas, just off the Strip. The resort offers a variety of amenities, including hotel rooms, restaurants, and live entertainment. The 30,000-square-foot casino features popular games such as blackjack, roulette, craps, slot machines, and a William Hill sportsbook.

Guest Reviews of Elevator Issues

Reviews on Tripadvisor confirm complaints about the poor elevator service at the Oyo. One guest from Chicago wrote, "The elevator was out all day. I was on the ninth floor and no one on the staff could tell me when it would be back up."

Another guest who recently stayed at the hotel expressed dissatisfaction not only with the elevators, but also with the poor ventilation in the casino and the housekeeping in the rooms.

Another guest from Sarasota, Florida also noted the elevators were out of order: "Trust the reviews about the elevators! Only the service elevator for all 19 floors worked, and it could only carry six people at a time." This guest also reported that on Saturday night, the only working elevator broke down, and the next day, only one elevator was working for the entire hotel-casino.

On the positive side, guests noted the hotel's cleanliness and quietness, as well as its convenient location near the Las Vegas Strip. The hotel management apologized to the complaints, noting that customer feedback is important to improving service.
