Two Hidden Devices Force Evacuation at Seminole Hard Rock Tampa

The Seminole Hard Rock Tampa has seen two incidents in the past week that required the attention of law enforcement. On Sunday evening, the Seminole Police Department, along with the FBI, began an investigation after a suspicious object was spotted in one of the men’s restrooms.
The first evacuation occurred that evening when officers were called to the scene after a report of a strange device found in a restroom near the casino’s gaming floor. At 11 p.m., a suspicious object was reported and part of the casino was temporarily closed for security. Officers said they found a “crude device” that included pyrotechnics and other items.
With the help of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad, the device was safely removed and disabled. According to FOX 13, the casino reopened around 3 a.m. Monday morning thanks to quick action from law enforcement.
However, the casino was evacuated again later that day after a second device was discovered. While checking the area after the first incident, police found another “hidden device” located in the same men’s restroom as the first.
In accordance with security procedures, all employees and patrons of the casino were temporarily evacuated while law enforcement worked on the second device. Despite the tense situation, the gaming area and other parts of the establishment were still operating without restrictions as of Monday evening.
The investigation is ongoing, and Seminole police are working with the FBI to determine the circumstances. They are reviewing surveillance footage to determine who left the devices. At this time, law enforcement has not determined a motive for these criminal acts and does not have information on whether the “hidden devices” posed a real threat.
