Gaming software company Playtech has entered into a multi-year agreement with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Under this partnership, the parties will jointly develop new technology solutions for sustainable and responsible gambling.
New areas of Playtech and IGI collaboration
Under the terms of the agreement, Playtech is working closely with the International Gaming Institute (IGI) at UNLV to study and implement solutions based on artificial intelligence and machine learning. Both partners are looking forward to combining their extensive knowledge to develop new methods aimed at protecting players.
With over three decades of experience, IGI provides analytical research, practical solutions, and training to industry professionals. IGI will work with Playtech to explore the potential of using AI to train chatbots to help develop safer models for sports betting.
Playtech is also supporting an internship program at IGI’s new Innovation Center, where the first internship in gaming hardware manufacturing is being launched.
Player Protection Is a Priority
Representatives from both Playtech and UNLV expressed confidence that this partnership will help better protect players from gambling-related risks.
IGI Research Director Dr. Kasra Ghaharian noted that this collaboration represents a huge opportunity to advance research into responsible gambling. He emphasized that Playtech’s expertise in AI and machine learning will greatly impact the new study.
