Odds are that Spain's women's soccer team will win the trophy on Sunday at the Australia Stadium in Sydney, but England cannot be underestimated. That's because The Lionesses have been really impressive ever since they came to Australia.
In fact, their results are more impressive than those of the Spaniards, but perhaps this has something to do with the fact that La Roja played with very strong opponents.

Spain ready for another big gameSpain finished second in Group C with a 2-0-1 record. La Roja beat Costa Rica (3-0) and Zambia (5-0) in the first two games, but then lost 4-0 to Japan in the final game of the group stage. What's interesting about this game is that the Spaniards had the ball almost four-fifths of the time.
Even though they were in control of the game, they just couldn't find the net. But they found the net in each of the following games. In fact, La Roya scored a total of eight goals in three playoff games. The reason this is so impressive is because Spain played three very strong opponents - Switzerland, the Netherlands and Sweden.
Real Madrid midfielder Teresa Abellaira has been brilliant in every one of those games. In fact, she was Spain's standout player in that tournament. Her midfield colleague Aitana Bonmati played one brilliant game (against Switzerland), but hasn't achieved much since.
A similar case is with striker Jennifer Hermoso, who was great in the group stage but hasn't scored much since. In fact, she only scored one goal in three playoff games.
Can England change the situation?Spain play Teresa Abellaira in this tournament, while England play more as a team. As a result, the Lionesses dominated nearly every game in the tournament.
At the group stage, they went 3:0:0, with a score difference of 8:1. Then, in the first game of the playoffs, they fought Nigeria, but still managed to win on penalties after a 0-0 start. In the quarter-finals, they beat Colombia, again showing excellent defensive play. As a result, the score was 2:1, but the Colombians converted significantly more scoring chances than they did.

Finally, in their last game, the Lionesses defeated Matilda. Australia had a domestic audience on its side, but this did not upset England. Instead, the English went on and won the game 3–1 with three different players scoring on the scoresheet.
Spain vs England PredictionSpain are fantastic in midfield thanks to Teresa Abellaira, but this team's attack isn't too lethal. Of course, there are some good strikers in La Roja, the best example of which is Jennifer Hermoso. However, we don't think they are good enough to outmaneuver the English defenders.
The Lionesses have excelled in all aspects of the game, but their defense is often overlooked. However, defenders like Millie Bright and Alex Greenwood can win big games like the 2023 Women's World Cup final. If they don't let Spain score too many goals, England will win.
Selected: England win and under 2.5 goals.
