The 2023 World Esports Championship Final officially kicked off on Friday, August 25, 2023 with an impressive opening ceremony, the International Esports Federation (IESF) has announced. The glamorous grand opening ceremony took place at the Palace of Culture, located in Iasi, Romania. This year, a record 111 countries have qualified and will take part in six different games.
One of the most anticipated events in esports, the WE Championship 2023 will bring together the best players from around the world in PUBG Mobile Tekken 7, Dota 2, CS:GO , Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and eFootball. Teams participating in the prestigious event will compete for the top prize of $500,000, as well as the recognizable and coveted WE Championship trophy. The IESF has announced that the prestigious championship will run until September 4, 2023.
Prior to the grand opening ceremony, IESF organized a pre-ceremony event. This event was an acknowledgment of Romania's rich culture and featured the Philharmonic Orchestra's unique performance of the CS:GO theme. However, the WE Championship will bring even more of a unique experience with ComicCon, performances by world-renowned artists such as Armin van Buuren, and other exciting and exciting events.
