Last week, the league announced it had entered into an agreement with FanDuel as its new authorized gaming operator. The group also announced a new partnership with nVenue to create more betting content for NASCAR fans.

Another major announcement regarding betting was made this week: NASCAR and Sportradar announced that they have agreed to a four-year extension of their partnership.

The couple originally signed an agreement to provide honesty monitoring services last year, in addition to the original agreement made in 2018. The two companies have been cooperating to some extent since 2015. The renewal expands the scope of the partnership to include official bidding data.

Media data rights and betting data rights include not only the NASCAR Cup Series, but also the Xfinity and Craftsman Truck Series.

“As a leading technology company in the sports industry and a trusted partner for sports bookmakers and media companies, Sportradar is uniquely positioned to support NASCAR in pursuing commercial opportunities,” said Eric Konrad, Executive Vice President, Strategic Partnerships and Content, Sportradar. "Our ability to exploit these rights in the marketplace will ultimately enrich NASCAR fans."

“Our partnership with Sportradar is fundamental to our sports betting strategy, from ensuring the integrity of our product to quickly providing authorized gaming operators and media partners with accurate and reliable data,” said NASCAR Sports Betting Managing Director Joe Solosky. "Adding official betting data to the partnership will continue to catalyze NASCAR's rapid growth in the sports betting industry and allow fans to continue playing the sport."

A 10-race playoff will feature the top 16 drivers from last season, culminating in a championship race on November 5 at Phoenix Raceway.

The original plan was to place the Barstool Sportsbook marketplace at Phoenix Raceway as part of NASCAR's partnership with Penn Entertainment in Arizona. However, Soloski said earlier this summer that plans were on hold indefinitely. With the demise of the Barstool brand in November and the launch of ESPN BET, those talks appear to be over. It doesn't help that Phoenix Raceway can host major events like a championship, but it's inactive for most of the year.
