In an exciting move, Flutter Entertainment is breathing new life into
its virtual reality and free-to-play social casino offering by rebranding
PokerStars VR into Vegas Infinite. This transformation comes nearly five years
after the initial launch of the free-to-play ecosystem, which has been a
cornerstone of the PokerStars platform since its inception in 2018. Flutter,
following its acquisition of The Stars Group in 2021, has been actively
exploring innovative technologies to enhance user experiences.
The rebranding of Vegas Infinite underscores Flutter's commitment to
ushering in the "next generation" of gaming and establishing itself
as a premier destination for "virtual entertainment." This transformation
brings not only a new name but also a host of exciting features and products
designed to attract new players to the platform.
One of the standout upgrades is the introduction of a 3D virtual
cityscape, allowing players to explore opulent suites, luxurious casinos, and
breathtaking rooftop views. Additionally, Vegas Infinite is expanding its
accessibility by becoming available without the need for a virtual reality
headset. It will soon be accessible on Steam VR and Meta Quest VR, broadening
its reach to a wider audience.
James O’Reilly, PokerStars Director of VR & Innovation, expressed
his excitement, stating, "As we approach our fifth anniversary, it’s
incredible to think how far our game has come. From a cutting-edge experiment
in applying virtual reality to the poker table, we’ve grown to become a living
entertainment destination with a full suite of games and experiences played in
otherworldly environments that are home to an avid community of players."
The platform's enhancements extend to the introduction of a range of new
games, including blackjack, roulette, slots, craps, and Rocket Rush. Poker
enthusiasts will also be delighted to find the inclusion of Spin & Go poker
on the platform. For those well-versed in virtual reality and the metaverse, Vegas
Infinite boasts its flagship tournament, the Metaverse Poker Tour.
James O’Reilly emphasized, "Today, we’re much more than poker and
much more than VR. Vegas Infinite is where we’re taking our players next, and
there’s lots more in store."
