SBC to Honor Four Industry Pioneers in Hall of Fame Class of 2023

SBC is thrilled to announce the recognition of four outstanding industry leaders in this year's Hall of Fame Ceremony. These pioneers will be celebrated during the upcoming SBC Leaders Summit, scheduled for September 19 at the W Hotel in Barcelona, Spain. The Summit is an integral part of the SBC Summit Barcelona event, which runs from September 19 to 21 at Fira Barcelona Montjuïc.

The four individuals who will be honored for their significant contributions to the industry are:

1. Gustaf Hagman – CEO and Co-Founder of LeoVegas.

2. Jordan Levin – CEO of OpenBet.

3. Per Widerström – Incoming CEO of 888 (effective October 16, 2023).

4. Brigid Simmonds OBE – Chair of the Betting and Gaming Council.

The Sports Betting Hall of Fame, established by SBC in 2016, recognizes and celebrates individuals whose achievements have had a positive and lasting impact on the industry. The ceremony will be hosted by former inductees, including SBC's Sue Schneider and Simon Bold, a Betting & Gaming Consultant at Fatcats Limited.

Sue Schneider expressed her excitement about the event, saying, "This is an occasion that will forever remain in the hearts of the inductees. It's an opportunity for us, as an industry, to take a moment and recognize the incredible work they've done – from pioneering mobile-first betting to guiding companies through cultural transformations, mergers, acquisitions, and establishing ethical standards in the industry."

The new inductees will join the ranks of their peers who were honored earlier in 2023 at SBC Summit North America, including Michael Gaughan, Nick Bogdanovich, Trish Lewandowski, and David L. Rebuck. Previous inductees include Chris Andrews, Paul Burns, Sandy Drozd, and Vincent Magliulo.

The SBC Leaders Summit is an exclusive gathering of 450 C-level executives, offering networking opportunities, engaging conference sessions, regulatory discussions, a poker championship, and invite-only dinners during the core days of SBC Summit Barcelona.
