In a groundbreaking move, Pro League Network (PLN), a prominent sports betting entertainment company, has acquired the SlapFight Championship, ushering this unique sport into its extensive repertoire.
The acquisition encompasses all aspects of the SlapFight Championship, including its branding, content, social media presence, and the esteemed Championship Founder and CEO, JT Tilley. As part of the deal, Tilley will take on the role of Creative Director at PLN, where he will oversee the conceptualization, development, and production of sporting events.
Established in 2017, the SlapFight Championship boasts a roster of renowned slapfight champions, including none other than UFC Heavyweight Champion Tim Sylvia. These adrenaline-pumping events are accessible to audiences worldwide through live pay-per-view broadcasts and on-demand services.
PLN Co-Founders Mike Salvaris and Bill Yucatonis expressed their enthusiasm for this acquisition, stating, "We couldn't be more thrilled to welcome SlapFight into our portfolio and are eager to expand the brand. Moreover, we're excited to introduce SlapFight enthusiasts to our other PLN sports offerings."
They further commended JT Tilley and his team for their knack for developing sports that are not only easy to comprehend but also possess viral appeal and captivating watchability. Their partnership promises to pave the way for new additions to the PLN sports family.
The SlapFight Championship will be integrated into PLN's diverse lineup of distinctive sports, which already includes XTreme Long Drive, Pro Footgolf, National Carrom League, Strongman, T3 TouchTennis, and Beastball.
Speaking about the acquisition, Tilley remarked, "From the moment I connected with the PLN team last year, it became evident that we shared a common vision for the future of sports entertainment. This vision envisions sports that might be perceived as 'niche' becoming universally appealing when presented meticulously across various platforms, including betting, fantasy sports, and interactive viewing experiences. I'm thrilled to collaborate with Mike and Bill to bring this vision to fruition."
Earlier this year, Pro League Network expanded the World Putting League Championship into an additional eight US states, further underscoring its commitment to broadening the horizons of sports entertainment.
