In an extraordinary stroke of luck, a Florida resident recently became $5 million richer after purchasing a lottery ticket at a local Publix supermarket. The fortunate winner, Travis Hall, shared that he had made the spontaneous decision to buy the ticket while on a quick stop at Publix to grab one of their famous "Pub Sub" sandwiches, known for their delicious combination of meats and veggies.

Hall participated in the Monopoly Doubler game, selecting a $20 scratch-off ticket during his visit to the Publix store located on Southwest Federal Highway in Stuart. After a few days had passed, he finally gathered the courage to check his ticket, and the results left him utterly shocked.

"I handed it to my wife — my hands were trembling from disbelief at what I was seeing," Hall recounted to lottery officials. Opting for a lump-sum payment, Hall retained more than $3.99 million of his winnings. This fortunate 44-year-old hails from Port St. Lucie, situated approximately 115 miles to the north of Miami.

This isn't the first time a Publix store in Florida has played host to a jackpot-winning lottery ticket. Just last August, a shopper in Neptune Beach purchased a Mega Millions ticket that turned out to be worth a staggering $1.58 billion.
