Unclaimed Millions: Taiwan's Latest Receipt Lottery Winners Yet to Cash In

In a surprising turn of events, Taiwan's latest receipt lottery has left eight lucky winners of NT$10 million (US$311,000) Special Prizes and five winners of NT$2 million Grand Prizes in limbo. As the eagerly anticipated announcement of the winning numbers for this round approaches on Monday (September 25), the Ministry of Finance (MOF) has issued a reminder that these unclaimed prizes are still up for grabs until November 6.

The MOF has revealed intriguing details about some of the unclaimed Special Prize winners. Among them is a consumer who, after paying a mere NT$58 delivery fee for a Foodpanda order, found themselves holding a golden ticket to wealth. Another fortunate soul won big with just NT$120 spent on two bowls of noodles at Ay-Chung Flour-Rice Noodle, a renowned eatery located on Emei Street in Taipei City's Wanhua District.

The list of unclaimed Special Prizes continues with a shopper who purchased cigarettes for NT$122 at the FamilyMart convenience store on Zhixing Road in Taipei City's Beitou District. Additionally, there's a winner who paid a gas fee of NT$442 to The Great Taipei Gas Corporation.

The remaining four unclaimed Special Prizes belong to a customer who enjoyed a meal at 7-Eleven on Wenchang Road in Taichung City's Wuqi District, a driver who spent NT$301 on diesel fuel at the CPC gas station on Zhongxing Road in Kaohsiung City's Yanchao District, a person who paid NT$800 for a delivery from Taiwan Pelican Express, and a dedicated shopper who splurged NT$820 at Japan Medical on Lin'an Road in Tainan City's North District.

Meanwhile, the hunt continues for the holders of the five Grand Prize-winning receipts. These include a NT$268 receipt from Books.com.tw, an NT$20 purchase of fresh food at a 7-Eleven on Fude 1st Road in Taoyuan City's Bade District, an NT$64 food purchase receipt from a 7-Eleven on Xinke Road in Taichung City's Xitun District, an NT$45 beverage receipt from TEA'S beverage shop on Wenhuaroad in Chiayi City's East District, and a NT$105 receipt for papaya milk purchased at the Bei Hui Papaya Milk beverage shop on Rehe 1st St in Kaohsiung City's Sanmin District.
