Panda Interactive, a technology powerhouse, has taken legal action by filing two separate lawsuits in the Texas Eastern District Court against Genius Sports and Sportradar, alleging patent infringement. The lawsuits assert that Sportradar and Genius Sports, both rivals of Panda, have unlawfully integrated Panda's video streaming technology patents into their products without proper authorization.

Panda Interactive has invested significantly in developing patents related to live data and content streaming, including innovative technologies that allow viewers to view live odds and place bets while watching sports events. The company contends that its competitors have extensively copied its patents, particularly in the online sports betting sector.

Donald Schupak, Chairman of Panda Interactive, expressed their determination, stating, "We have made substantial investments in the development of our technology and cannot tolerate having our patented technology used unfairly by others and against us. No one wants to see their own arsenal used against them in battle."

The legal filings further allege that a substantial portion of Genius Sports' and Sportradar's businesses relies on Panda's patented technology. This includes various Genius Sports products such as LiveData, LiveTrading, Genius Trading, BetVision, and in-Play Multibet. Sportradar, on the other hand, is accused of infringing the patent in its video streaming products, encompassing its Sportradar emBet, Sportradar OTT, and Sportradar Live Channel Trading brands.

Panda Interactive argues that the "illegal and unauthorized" use of their patented technology by Sportradar and Genius Sports has led to significant increases in profits, revenue, market capitalization, and market share for these companies. As a result, Panda claims to have suffered losses in sales and profits, including lost market share and goodwill.

Kevin April, CEO of Panda Interactive, emphasized the importance of the intersection of media and sports betting, stating, "The confluence of media and sports betting is essential to the future of the fan-viewing experience. Panda developed its pioneering technology long before online sports betting was even legal in the US. Sportradar and Genius Sports are infringing on our patents and capitalizing on our groundbreaking work."

In response to these allegations, iGB reached out to Sportradar and Genius Sports for comment. Sportradar declined to comment, citing company policy regarding pending litigation.
