Tombola, a company under the umbrella of Flutter, has recently revealed plans to downsize its workforce, affecting around 250 employees. This decision comes after a thorough operational review of the company's activities. While reports had previously hinted at cost-saving measures within the online bingo company, Tombola confirmed the job cuts.

The impacted employees primarily belong to Tombola's customer experience team, encompassing roles in chat services, customer support, and safeplay. Although the redundancies present challenges, the company has expressed its commitment to assisting affected workers during this transitional phase.

Tombola has also emphasized its dedication to the North East region of England, stating that Sunderland will continue to serve as its headquarters. The company maintains a strong reputation for customer protection, including setting maximum stakes at £2 for all online bingo and arcade games. Despite the job cuts, the acquisition of Tombola by Flutter has coincided with an increase in employee numbers.

Before the takeover, Tombola had a headcount of 769, with 629 employees based in the UK. Since becoming part of the Flutter group, Tombola's overall headcount has grown to 847, while the UK-based workforce now numbers 706.
