GSA Africa: Uniting the African Gaming Industry
The gaming industry in Africa is on the rise, and with it comes the need for standardized practices and regulations. GSA Africa, operating as a local office, is set to play a pivotal role in guiding operators, suppliers, and regulators through the complex web of regional gaming regulations. The man at the helm, FK Fayad, brings a wealth of experience in various sectors, including trade, technology, ICT, business regulation, and government consultancy across Africa, Asia, the Gulf Region, and the Middle East.

A Leadership Committed to Progress
FK Fayad, who also contributes to the Nigerian Arab Gulf Chamber of Commerce and serves as a volunteer member of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, expressed his excitement about leading GSA Africa. He sees Africa as an exciting and rapidly growing segment of the global gaming industry, and he believes that introducing IGSA standards at this stage is crucial for the continent's continued growth.

IGSA's Expanding Initiatives
The establishment of GSA Africa is just one of IGSA's many initiatives aimed at enhancing the gaming industry. In addition to this, IGSA has recently formed a Cyber Resiliency Committee (CRC) to develop cybersecurity standards for gambling businesses. The CRC is focusing on creating standards for cyber risk management, cybersecurity governance, and framework control standards for casino operators.

Furthermore, IGSA's board approved the formation of a Responsible Gaming Committee in June. This committee will provide support to regulators and operators through the Responsible Gaming Maturity Model (RGMM), a multi-tiered framework designed to facilitate responsible gaming. The RGMM will enable regulators and operators to transition from basic responsible gaming policies to a more precise dashboard of KPIs derived from quantifiable data.
