Caesars Entertainment Leads Washington DC Sports Betting Market in September

The Washington DC sports betting scene witnessed a dynamic September, with Caesars Entertainment taking the lead. Despite a decline in revenue and handle compared to the previous year, Caesars remained the reigning champion in the market. Sports enthusiasts eagerly followed the action as spending on sports betting in September amounted to $14.5 million, reflecting a 25.3% decrease from last year's $19.4 million. However, this total was an impressive 79.0% ahead of August 2023's $8.1 million.

In terms of gross gaming revenue, the market generated $1.9 million in September. While revenue was down by 47.2% from the same month the previous year, it marked a substantial 90.0% increase from August 2023's total.

Caesars Entertainment led the charge in Washington DC, posting $867,672 in revenue from a total sports bet amount of $5.3 million. Gambet, operated by the DC Lottery and powered by Intralot, secured the second position with $588,203 in revenue, derived from $5.2 million in wagers. BetMGM followed closely with $285,127 in revenue and a handle of $2.7 million, while Flutter Entertainment's FanDuel brought in $128,831 from a total spend of $556,671. Grand Central, in partnership with Elys Game Technology, posted revenue of $98,930 off a handle of $713,916. Propping up the market was Cloakbook, which reported a loss of $34,501 from $55,792 in bets.
