Sports Betting on the Rise:
In September, Delaware's sports betting enthusiasts displayed their enthusiasm, contributing to a total handle of $7.6 million. This figure marks the highest monthly total in the last eight months, showcasing the state's fondness for sports wagering. While this was slightly down (14.6%) compared to September 2022 when the handle was $8.9 million, it is important to note that it was a substantial increase (216.7%) from August 2023, when it stood at $2.4 million. In fact, this was the highest handle seen in Delaware since January.

This figure was not only higher by 21.3% compared to August but also the largest monthly total since May. Of this total, $22.3 million was wagered on video lottery games, while $17.0 million was spent on table games. In terms of revenue, the iGaming sector raked in $1.1 million in September. This amount, although down by 15.4% compared to the same month last year, was on par with August 2023. Among the revenue, $856,402 came from video lottery games, $219,505 from table games, and an additional $33,043 from poker rake and fees.

Delaware Park asserted its dominance in the iGaming market by securing the top spot in September, amassing a total revenue of $534,015 from a handle of $22.2 million. Bally's Dover followed closely, ranking second with $356,861 in revenue and $10.3 million in wagers. Harrington Raceway completed the top three with revenue of $218,074 from a handle of $6.8 million.
