Breaking Ground in Louisiana
In a major development for the gaming industry, LRGC Gaming Investors, an affiliate of Cordish Companies, has gained approval from the Louisiana Gaming Control Board to operate in the regulated gaming market of Louisiana. This exciting news aligns with Cordish's previously disclosed intentions to launch a new casino in Bossier City, Louisiana.
A Grand Transformation on the Horizon
Back in April, Cordish unveiled ambitious plans to transform the Diamond Jacks Casino & Hotel into a casino resort and entertainment hub under the Live! brand. The revitalized facility will span over 47,000 square feet of gaming space, boasting more than 1,000 slot machines, electronic table games, and an impressive selection of over 40 live table games.
Beyond Gaming: A World of Entertainment
The upcoming casino will not be the only attraction on the premises. Cordish's Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana project will also include a hotel, a versatile events center, and a variety of dining and entertainment options. The entire project is expected to come to fruition at an estimated cost of $270.0 million.
The Key to Progress
The realization of this project is contingent on Cordish's acquisition of the current Diamond Jacks Casino & Hotel. With the approval from the Louisiana Gaming Control Board now secured, Cordish is poised to complete the purchase, paving the way for their transformative gaming venture in Louisiana.
High Praise for the Future
Cordish Managing Partner, Joe Weinberg, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana will be a transformative development that will bring a first-class gaming, dining, entertainment, and hospitality experience, create significant new jobs, and generate millions of dollars in economic benefits for the community. We are extremely excited to continue moving forward with this project and deliver a world-class destination to the region."
A Promising Partnership
Chair of the Louisiana Gaming Control Board, Ronnie Johns, also shared positive sentiments regarding the plans. "Cordish has an exceptional reputation in providing first-rate casino experiences as well as hospitality and entertainment venues across the country," Johns said. "We are happy with their decision to bring their Live! brand to the State of Louisiana. We feel comfortable that their commitment to a first-class $270 million project will help grow the Bossier City/Shreveport gaming market. We welcome Cordish and look forward to working with them to bring this project to a reality to open sometime in 2025."
