Regulatory Punishment for Permitting Dutch Residents
The KSA penalized MKC Limited for facilitating Dutch players on its Betworld247 platform despite the absence of a valid local license. The regulatory authority emphasized that no adequate measures were in place to prevent Dutch participation, such as IP blocking, leading to a violation of the Dutch Betting and Gaming Act (WOK).

Negligence in Age Verification and Player Safety
Highlighting the lack of visible age verification for participants, the KSA underscored the severity of the offense, resulting in a substantial fine. René Jansen, the chairman of the KSA, emphasized the accessibility of the platform to vulnerable, underage players, indicating a critical safety oversight in MKC Limited's operations.

MKC's Ignored Cease-and-Desist Order
Despite a cease-and-desist letter issued by the KSA in August 2022, MKC Limited failed to comply with regulatory directives. An investigation into the group's activities revealed a significant influx of Dutch traffic on the Betworld247 site, with no concrete response from MKC during the regulatory process.

Malta Gaming Authority's License Revocation
Further complicating MKC's situation, the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) revoked its license in July 2023 due to multiple breaches of regulatory protocols, including failure to make necessary licensing payments and fulfill financial commitments. Additionally, the MGA flagged the company's inadequate customer support and service delays.

Increased Scrutiny on Unlicensed Operators
Following the recent €2.1m fine imposed on Malta-based LCS Limited for its illegal operations in the Netherlands, KSA has intensified its efforts to curb unlicensed gambling activities. The regulator's stringent actions reflect a commitment to ensuring compliance and safeguarding the interests of players within the Dutch gambling market.
