To facilitate a seamless handover, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to shadow Brincat for several weeks, ensuring a smooth transition of leadership. The official transition date for the new CEO is scheduled for January 26, just one day after Brincat's departure.

The Search for a New CEO
The Malta Gaming Authority is actively seeking a new CEO who can bring dynamism, passion, and strong strategic thinking to the organization. The new CEO will report to the board of governors, playing a pivotal role in executing the Authority's strategy and overseeing its day-to-day operations as outlined in the law.

Job Requirements
To qualify for the role of CEO at the MGA, candidates must hold at least an MQF Level 6 qualification, equivalent to a bachelor's degree. Preferably, candidates should also possess qualifications in law, accountancy, finance, or business administration. It is essential for the successful candidate to have a minimum of five years' experience in senior roles, with prior regulatory experience considered an asset. The CEO will also be responsible for overseeing the MGA's financial performance and building strong relationships with various stakeholders in the public and private sectors.

Application Process
Interested candidates should submit a comprehensive CV highlighting their major accomplishments and demonstrating how they meet the eligibility criteria. Additionally, candidates are required to provide three references and a cover letter as part of their application.

Selection Process
The Malta Gaming Authority will invite top-notch candidates for an interview with its selection panel. From this initial pool of candidates, a maximum of three will be chosen for a second interview. In the event that none of the candidates meet the requirements, the MGA retains the right to withhold the selection of any candidate for the CEO position.
