The Casino Prank Turned Deadly:
In October 2020, Kevin Marvell Jackson, 22, attended a house party in Muskogee with his girlfriend, Natalie McMahon. At the party, he encountered Bradley Dillon, 19, and Dakota Berryhill, who had earlier visited the Creek Nation Casino Muskogee. The tragic turn of events began when Dillon and Berryhill jokingly claimed to have won $10,000.
The Robbery Gone Awry:
Fueled by greed, Jackson armed himself and decided to rob the duo without verifying their winnings. He donned a ski mask and ambushed them upon their return to the party. However, to his dismay, Dillon and Berryhill had no money. Angered, Jackson forced them to an ATM, threatening them with a gun. When Berryhill escaped, Jackson fatally shot Dillon five times.
Justice Served:
Dillon succumbed to his injuries, sparking a police investigation. Vicky Garza, a witness, and Facebook Messenger conversations with McMahon aided in Jackson's identification and subsequent arrest. Jackson now faces two life sentences without parole, 180 months for robbery, and another 180 months for using a firearm in a violent crime.
Legal Response:
Attorney Christopher Wilson emphasized society's intolerance for such "callous acts," underlining the severity of Jackson's crime.
