In a strategic move, Superbet Group has chosen Jimmy Maymann as its new chief executive officer, set to assume office on January 15, 2024. Maymann, known for his corporate expertise and innovative ventures, previously served as the deputy chair of the company’s board of directors. With a background in technology, media services, telecom, and NGO companies, Maymann has a proven track record of founding and developing over 10 successful ventures, including the acquisition of his video content platform, GoViral, by the American company AOL. His leadership experience also extends to his role as the former CEO of The Huffington Post.
Replacing the incumbent CEO, Johnny Hartnett, on January 15, 2024, Maymann expressed his excitement about leading Superbet Group. The board chairman, Hans Hogler-Albrecht, praised Maymann's impressive background, anticipating a positive impact on the company's strategy and business model. Maymann, in turn, looks forward to contributing his expertise to propel Superbet towards global leadership in the technology and entertainment sector.
As part of the transition, Hartnett will step down as CEO and join the board as a non-executive director. Reflecting on his five years as CEO, Hartnett described it as "the ride of a lifetime" and expressed gratitude to his colleagues for their support. He affirmed his commitment to ensuring a seamless transition of responsibilities to Maymann and expressed his desire to continue working with Superbet as a member of the board of directors.
