Late Load Requests Restriction:
Starting next year, Late Load Requests, allowing horses to be loaded out of sequence, face new restrictions. Horses with behavioral issues in the starting stalls and debutants without a prior assessment indicating concerns are now ineligible for such requests. Adjustments to warnings and Stalls Tests further aim to ensure the safety of horses and fairness in competition.
Loading Process Changes:
From 2024, manipulating a horse's ear or tail during loading is permitted only for safety purposes. Actions beyond safety may result in cautions and fines, as deemed by stewards. BHA starters are prohibited from carrying hunting crops during jump-starts, and all start assistants must complete the BHA Trainer Representative – Starts Training Module.
