Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel Unveils $275 Million Expansion Project for 2024

An easy drive from Atlanta and Chattanooga, Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino and Hotel not only offers exciting gaming in Western North Carolina, but is also an excellent overnight stay for visitors.
But 2024 will bring even more expansion with the next $275 million construction project that will bring an expanded 25,000-square-foot playing area for players, a 296-room hotel tower and a large parking lot with 1,500 spaces.
Hundreds of new slot machines and 12 additional table games:
According to Harrah's Cherokee Valley River general manager Lumpy Lambert, a long-awaited expansion project he envisioned several years ago should generate revenue for the Eastern Cherokee Tribe (EBCI).
Meanwhile, the project should help "distribution for accepted members and job creation."
Representatives from prime contractor Robins & Morton joined general manager Lambert to tour the new locations, which will host 400 brand new slot machines next year, along with a dozen table games, a 22-seat casino bar and a 10-seat World Series of Poker room.
Lambert expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the project, the need for which was identified eight years ago when the establishment opened its gates to the world.
Looking ahead to the opportunity for growth and expansion, Lambert also forecasts 100 new incremental positions and re-emphasizes their primary goals of supporting the breeding program and distribution for EBCI.
Involving local artists to maintain cultural integration:
The update includes a series of specific design elements that reflect Cherokee culture, with the goal of maintaining the cultural integration of Harrah's Cherokee Casino.
With this idea in mind, the project will employ local artists whose role will be to "introduce culture" better.
The new gaming area is expected to be available to casino visitors and guests by mid-2024. The parking lot will join within a short hour with a planned opening hour of summer 2024. Finally, the new hotel tower will become available to the public late next year.
River Tower currently offers 300 spacious rooms with modern amenities conveniently located next to the gaming area. The establishment is also home to UltraStar, a bowling alley and arcade that has a variety of game options for the entire homeland.
