Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) made headlines on December 14, 2023, with the official inauguration of its Phase 3 projects at Galaxy Macau. This momentous occasion marked a new era for GEG, as it ventured into various sectors of business, including culture, entertainment, sports, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions), and tourism. The grand opening ceremony was a testament to GEG's dedication to fostering Macau's socio-economic stability and sharing prosperity with the local community.
Distinguished Guests in Attendance
The ceremony was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Mr. Ho Hau Wah, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and Mr. Lei Wai Nong, Representative of the Chief Executive and Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Macau SAR Government. The event took place at the Galaxy International Convention Center and featured ribbon-cutting and lion-eye dotting ceremonies, symbolizing wishes for GEG's future success.
A Spectacular Performance
The grand celebration was elevated by a mesmerizing performance by globally renowned soprano Ms. He Hui and the Macao Orchestra, conducted by Music Director Mr. Lio Kuok Man. The event brought together nearly 1,000 domestic and overseas guests, including dignitaries, local officials, community leaders, and media representatives, who were enthralled by the performances.
Vision for the Future
Dr. Lui Che Woo, Chairman of GEG, expressed his vision for Phase 3 projects, emphasizing Macau's role as a "City of Performing Arts" and a "City of Sports." Mr. Francis Lui, Vice Chairman, highlighted the company's focus on non-gaming development to cater to changing tourist demographics. The Phase 3 projects include the Galaxy International Convention Center and the Galaxy Arena, as well as two internationally acclaimed hotel brands, Andaz Macau and Raffles at Galaxy Macau.
Continued Growth
Looking ahead, GEG has plans for Phase 4, which includes constructing a new integrated resort featuring high-end hotel brands, dining, retail outlets, and a 4,000-seat international music and performing-arts theater. GEG remains committed to its core values, supporting Macau's integration with national development and promoting its position as a "World Center of Tourism and Leisure."
