Kansas continued its streak of breaking sports betting records in November, as players in the state wagered an astounding $260.9 million. This achievement not only surpassed the previous month's record of $249.7 million by 4.5% but also represented a substantial 40% increase from the $186.4 million wagered in November of the previous year.

Online Dominance

Out of the total amount wagered in November, a significant $251.7 million was placed in online bets, demonstrating the growing popularity of online sports wagering. The remaining $9.2 million was wagered at retail sportsbooks throughout the state.

Revenue Highlights

While Kansas achieved record-breaking handle figures, the revenue generated in November reached $8.9 million, slightly behind October's record of $14.4 million but significantly higher than the $8.0 million recorded in November 2022. Online sports wagering accounted for the majority of the revenue, totaling $8.2 million, with an additional $753,778 coming from retail sportsbooks.

Leaders in the Game

Boot Hill Casino and DraftKings maintained their lead in the online sports betting sector in Kansas, generating $4.2 million in revenue from a total of $109.6 million in bets. Kansas Star and FanDuel followed closely with $2.8 million in revenue from an $80.1 million handle. In the retail segment, Barstool and the Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway led the way, generating $528,142 in revenue from $6.3 million in bets.

Tax Collection

Kansas collected a substantial $892,968 in wagering taxes during the month, with $817,590 originating from online betting and $75,378 from retail establishments. This remarkable achievement underscores the growing popularity and economic impact of sports betting in the state of Kansas.
