Delaware's iGaming Revenue Surges, but Sports Betting Declines

Igaming Revenue Soars in Delaware

In a recent report, the Delaware Lottery disclosed a remarkable year-on-year increase in igaming revenue for the month of November. The total igaming revenue in Delaware for November reached an impressive $1.1 million, marking a substantial 13.0% surge compared to November 2022 and a 13.5% increase from October 2023.

Breaking down the numbers, $900,418 of this total came from online video lottery games, $188,050 from internet table games, and $27,170 from poker rake and fees.

Igaming Expenditure and Top Performers

Despite the surge in revenue, players in Delaware spent $32.1 million on igaming in November, representing a 24.8% decrease from the previous year. Video lottery games attracted $23.4 million in total wagers, while table games accounted for $8.7 million.

Delaware Park secured the top position in the igaming market, generating $452,554 in revenue from $11.9 million in wagers, followed by Bally's Dover with $384,111 from $9.3 million, and Harrington Raceway with $278,973 from $11.0 million.

Sports Betting Faces Decline

In contrast to the thriving igaming sector, sports betting revenue in Delaware experienced a sharp decline in November. Revenue plummeted to $576,800, a staggering 62.3% decrease from the previous year, and a significant 78.0% drop compared to October's $2.6 million haul.

Sports betting expenditure for the month also decreased to $8.1 million, marking a 20.6% decline from the previous year and a 24.3% decrease compared to October 2023.

Delaware Park emerged as the leader in the sports betting market, generating $368,904 in revenue from a $2.5 million handle, followed by Bally's Dover with $54,588 from $1.0 million, and Harrington Raceway with $19,476 from $364,706.

Additional Revenue from Retailers

The Delaware Lottery also noted an additional $408,055 in revenue generated from $4.9 million in wagers placed at retailers in November.
