FanDuel, a prominent player in the online gambling industry, has announced a substantial $1 million donation to the United Negro College Fund (UNCF). This generous contribution is aimed at bolstering educational opportunities for underrepresented students, particularly at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in Ohio.

UNCF, recognized as the nation's largest and most effective minority education organization, will utilize FanDuel's donation to offer financial assistance to students attending ten HBCUs across Ohio. This initiative encompasses crucial aspects of student life, including technology access, housing, food security, tuition support, and other educational expenses. Additionally, FanDuel plans to collaborate with UNCF to create internship opportunities for students from these institutions.

FanDuel's commitment to supporting UNCF extends back three years, with previous donations made to support UNCF's efforts in Virginia and Maryland. This latest contribution marks another milestone in their ongoing partnership, demonstrating FanDuel's dedication to making a positive impact on underrepresented communities.

The donation coincides with the one-year anniversary of mobile sports betting's launch in Ohio, highlighting FanDuel's commitment to giving back to the community. The ten HBCUs set to benefit from this donation include Case Western University, Central State University, Chamberlain University, Franklin University, Herzing University-Akron, Ohio State University-Newark Campus, Union Institute & University, Ursuline College, Wilberforce University, and University of Cincinnati-Blue Ash College.

UNCF's Executive Vice President and Chief Fundraising Officer, Maurice E. Jenkins, expressed gratitude for FanDuel's continuous support, emphasizing the positive impact on HBCUs and their students. FanDuel's president, Christian Genetski, echoed this sentiment, pledging to uphold their commitment to supporting Ohio's HBCU community and hardworking students across the state.
