The Super Bowl has been classified as a SEAR 1 event by the Department of Homeland Security, indicating the highest level of security concerns. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (Metro) is fully prepared to tackle the unique challenges that come with such a massive gathering. Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill emphasized the importance of effective communication and collaboration among various public safety groups to guarantee a safe environment.

In a recent interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Sheriff McMahill compared the upcoming Super Bowl to past events and acknowledged the additional complexities posed by numerous parties and gatherings throughout the city. Despite these challenges, he expressed confidence in his officers' abilities, who are no strangers to handling high-profile events.

The Las Vegas Metro has been actively preparing for the Super Bowl, drawing on its extensive experience in managing large crowds and responding to emergencies. Since the tragic mass shooting in 2017 during a country music festival, security measures have evolved significantly, with a focus on leveraging new technologies and improved awareness to ensure the safety of all participants.

Metro Lt. Kendall Bell, co-chair of the Las Vegas Super Bowl Host Committee’s public safety and security subcommittee, stressed the importance of information-sharing and collaboration. The committee has been actively involved in assisting the authorities and has gained insights from previous Super Bowl events to enhance preparedness.
