Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, the state-owned gaming operator in Sweden, has decided to rename its horse games to Svenska Spel Hästar following a legal dispute with ATG regarding the game's name. This move aims to ensure service continuity while adhering to the court's decision on the matter. Despite this setback, Svenska Spel remains committed to offering an exceptional trotting experience for its users, combining innovative technologies with a strong commitment to responsible gambling.

Fredrik Wastenson, the CEO and business area manager of Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, expressed disappointment with the court's ruling but pledged to make the transition as seamless as possible. He emphasized that the fantastic horse betting offer will continue under the new name, Svenska Spel Hästar.

Svenska Spel Hästar offers various betting options, including high-stakes games like High Five, Duo, as well as Winner and Place in French competitions. Users can also enjoy live race coverage, with the Prix d'Amérique, a highlight of the French trotting season, scheduled for 28 January at Vincennes.

While the renaming of Svenska Spel's horse games is a relatively minor issue, the operator faces other challenges, including the potential closure of two land-based venues, Casino Cosmopol in Gothenburg and Malmö. These closures are part of an effort to mitigate losses resulting from the declining share of the land-based gaming sector in Sweden. Despite these challenges, Svenska Spel, as a state-owned entity, remains resilient and dedicated to ensuring a safe and sustainable gambling sector in the country.
