Allwyn's New Marketing Director

Allwyn has made a major addition to its UK team by appointing Steve Parkinson as the brand and marketing director. Parkinson, who recently left Bauer Media after 16 years, takes on this role immediately. Bauer Media, known for its radio stations and magazines, saw Parkinson serving in various high-ranking positions, including chief strategic partnerships and events officer and group managing director for national brands.

A Fresh Challenge for Parkinson

In a LinkedIn post, Parkinson expressed his readiness for a new challenge in 2024, after leaving Bauer Media on a high note, with record reach and revenues and numerous successful shows in the UK and abroad. This move positions him at the forefront of Allwyn's marketing efforts as it gears up for a historic takeover.

Allwyn's National Lottery Takeover

Allwyn's appointment of Steve Parkinson is part of its preparations for officially taking over the UK National Lottery on February 1st. This follows the awarding of the lottery license in September 2022, ending Camelot's long-standing operation since 1994. The leadership team for Allwyn UK is expanding rapidly, with notable additions such as Mark Hughes, the chief security officer, and Andria Vidler, the CEO.

IGT Drops Legal Challenge

In another significant development, International Game Technology (IGT) has decided to withdraw its legal challenge against Allwyn's National Lottery license award. IGT, along with Camelot, had sought legal avenues to contest the decision, but this week, they asked the Court of Appeal to dismiss their claims. This decision further solidifies Allwyn's position as the future operator of the UK National Lottery.
