Flutter UK&I Launches Female-Focused Startup Competition

Flutter UK & Ireland has introduced a novel initiative, unveiling a competition designed to identify a partner to pioneer a gaming startup tailored to female players. The initiative is part of Flutter's Alpha Hub program, facilitating collaboration between Flutter's brands and startups. Applications for the competition are now being accepted until March 15, 2024.

Applicants are required to propose product ideas that resonate with the gambling preferences of women. Flutter cited social and community gaming as potential concepts. Furthermore, the competition allows for wildcard entries, enabling startups to present ideas divergent from the specified criteria. The chosen startup will receive support for product launch across the UK and Ireland, alongside the prospect of establishing a commercial relationship with Flutter.

The launch of the startup competition closely follows Flutter's debut on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on January 29. Flutter's decision to transition to the NYSE aligns with its strategy outlined in December. Ed Birkin, a senior analyst at H2 Gambling Capital, emphasized the move's appeal to investors given Flutter's significant presence in the US market.
