Wynn Interactive, a division of Wynn Resorts, has announced the suspension of its online gambling service, WynnBet, in Massachusetts. Players in the state have been given a 30-day window starting from February 12 to withdraw any remaining funds from their WynnBet accounts. However, retail sports betting within the state will still be available at Encore Boston Harbor casino, maintaining opportunities for players to wager on-site.

This decision follows Wynn Resorts' strategy to scale back WynnBet operations across several states in the US, including Colorado, Indiana, Louisiana, New Jersey, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. Despite initial plans to continue operating in Massachusetts, the brand has opted for a complete exit from the state, citing strategic considerations.

Recent reports indicate that WynnBet has been lagging behind its competitors in Massachusetts, with December figures showing significantly lower revenue compared to market leaders like DraftKings. While the overall sports betting market in Massachusetts has been thriving, WynnBet has struggled to capture a significant share.

Despite the cessation of operations in multiple states, Wynn Resorts reported record revenue of $6.63 billion for the fiscal year 2023. The success was largely attributed to strong performances in Macau and Las Vegas, contributing to substantial growth and profitability for the company.
