Indiana Sets Record Monthly Revenue in January

Indiana's gambling scene witnessed a remarkable surge in January, as the state raked in a record monthly revenue of $53.5 million. This figure surpassed the previous record of $50.6 million set in December, showcasing a steady upward trend in the state's gambling market.

Despite the overall revenue increase, Indiana experienced a slight decline in its sports wagering handle, dropping by 4.5% from December to January. The total sports wagering handle for January stood at $480.3 million, reflecting a minor setback in comparison to the previous month's $503.1 million.

The battle for dominance between major players DraftKings and FanDuel intensified in Indiana's gambling arena. Ameristar Casino, housing DraftKings' sportsbook, emerged as the handle leader with $181.4 million, while FanDuel secured a substantial AGR of $23.3 million despite a lower betting volume.

The prospect of introducing iGaming in Indiana has garnered significant attention, with projections suggesting a potential revenue influx of $2.1 billion over the initial three years post-legalization. A recent report by Spectrum Group commissioned by the Indiana Gaming Commission highlighted the lucrative possibilities of iGaming, signaling a potential evolution in the state's gambling landscape.

Bet365 expanded its foothold in the US market by launching online sports betting in Indiana in January. Partnering with the French Lick Resort land-based casino, Bet365 made its debut in the eighth US market, marking another milestone in its expansion endeavors.
