Alongside iGaming, sports betting also contributed significantly to Michigan's gambling landscape. Gross receipts from sports betting surged to $47.7 million, marking a substantial 40.7% increase compared to January 2023. Detroit Casino Decline
While online gambling flourished, Detroit's land-based casinos experienced a downturn in revenue. Monthly revenue from the city's three casinos dropped by 8.8% year-on-year, totaling $94.4 million. This decline underscores a shifting trend towards digital gambling platforms amid changing consumer preferences.
