New Additions to UKGC's Industry Forum
The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) has revealed the latest additions to its Industry Forum, aimed at advising and providing crucial insights to the regulatory body. This move comes as the UKGC seeks to strengthen its understanding and oversight of the gambling sector, announced in 2023.
Diverse Expertise Incorporated
Following the appointment of Nick Rust as the chairman of the Industry Forum in November, the UKGC has now introduced nine new members. These individuals hail from prominent gambling companies in Britain, boasting extensive experience vital for guiding the regulator through ongoing reforms.
Meet the New Members
Among the newly appointed members are Tony Boulton, representing Merkur UK, Kristy Caldwell from Betsmart Consulting, and Charles Cohen, founder and CEO of Department of Trust. Other additions include Ashley Padgett from Flutter, Mark Pearson from Betfred, and Nigel Roddis from Britbet.
March 21: Inaugural Meeting
The Industry Forum's inaugural meeting is scheduled for March 21, where the new members will commence their collaborative efforts with the UKGC. Rust expressed his satisfaction with the selected appointees, acknowledging the challenge of choosing from over 40 applicants. He anticipates the group will offer diverse perspectives crucial for the regulator's evolution and performance improvement.
