North Carolina Launches Online Sports Betting Today

North Carolina, the Tar Heel State, is set to kick off its online sports betting journey today at noon EST. The market's opening comes after Governor Roy Cooper signed House Bill 347 into law in June 2023, setting the stage for legal sports betting in the state.

Several major operators have secured licenses to participate in North Carolina's sports betting market. FanDuel, Caesars Entertainment, DraftKings, Fanatics, Bet365, BetMGM, ESPN Bet, and Underdog are among the companies ready to launch today. These operators have been gearing up for the launch, offering promotional deals and establishing partnerships to enhance the betting experience.

Matt Kalish, DraftKings North America president, expressed excitement about the launch, highlighting North Carolina's passionate sports fans and rich basketball tradition. Partnerships have played a crucial role in paving the way for sports betting in the state. Each licensed operator has teamed up with a sports team, league, or venue within North Carolina to facilitate its operations.

In addition to operator licenses, supplier licenses have been granted to GeoComply, SBTech, and Sportradar. Sportradar, in particular, stands out with its recent confirmation, enabling it to provide sports data to approved operators in North Carolina for the next five years.
