Major Operators Unite for Responsible Gaming

Seven prominent gaming companies in North America have announced the formation of the Responsible Online Gaming Association (ROGA) with the aim of promoting responsible gambling practices within the industry. The collaboration includes BetMGM, Bet365, DraftKings, Fanatics Betting & Gaming, FanDuel, Hard Rock Digital, and Penn Entertainment, representing over 85% of the legal online sports betting and igaming market in the US.

A Pledge for Change

These companies have committed over $20 million to support ROGA's initiatives in its inaugural year. Dr. Jennifer Shatley, with her extensive experience in the field of responsible gaming, has been appointed as ROGA's executive director. She expressed her enthusiasm for leading ROGA, emphasizing the importance of enhancing consumer protections and accessibility to responsible gaming tools.

ROGA's Objectives

ROGA has outlined five primary objectives to achieve its mission of promoting responsible gaming education. These objectives include advocating for independent research on the effectiveness of responsible gaming tools, promoting best practices for responsible gaming, raising awareness about problem gambling, establishing an independent data clearinghouse for information sharing among member companies, and implementing an independent certification program to evaluate operators' responsible gaming efforts objectively.

 A Collaborative Effort

With DraftKings and FanDuel taking the lead, the Responsible Online Gaming Association marks a significant step forward in addressing the issue of responsible gaming in the US gaming industry. This collaborative effort aims to set new standards and ensure the well-being of consumers in the rapidly expanding online gaming landscape.
